The fight against cystic fibrosis is a cause near and dear to Céline's heart. Her niece, Karine, had cystic fibrosis (CF), the most common, fatal genetic disease affecting Canadian children and young adults. In 1982, determined to raise important funds and awareness of CF, Céline began supporting the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Unfortunately, in 1993, Karine lost her battle with cystic fibrosis at the age of 16; she died in Céline's arms. Grief-stricken, Céline vowed to help others affected by this terrible disease and became the Foundation's Celebrity Patron.



This year, the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is marking its 50th Anniversary, and Céline is featured in an Anniversary video highlighting the wonderful progress made in CF research and care in Canada. Thanks to the continued support of Céline, countless donors, volunteers and partners, we will beat cystic fibrosis once and for all!

It has been almost two years since Walt Disney Animation Studios announced that they would be converting Beauty and the Beast into 3D for a Valentine’s Day 2010 theatrical rerelease. Disney has been showing a short test of the 3D footage at various industry events, including last year’s ShoWest. Unlike the live-action 3D post conversions, I was actually quite impressed with what Disney was able to achieve with the added dimensionality (read my previous report here). Earlier this year, Disney pushed the releease back to a To Be Announced 2011 date, and it was later revealed that they were so happy with how Beauty 3D turned out, that they were also in the process of converting The Lion King to 3D as well.



We still don’t know when the 3D version will hit theaters, but many assume it’s February 14th 2011, as Disney wanted to target Valentine’s Day in it’s previous release plans. But a one minute teaser trailer has been found online, and can now be watched embedded after the jump. According to the trailer, it will get a very limited release in New Zealand on August 12th 2010.

The film’s original producers Don Hahn and directors Kirk Wise and Gary Trousdale used the film’s original computer files to re-render the film in 3D, a process that took an estimated 10 months. “By going back to the original animation files, which have been carefully archived for 17 years, and using the separate background, effects and character animation elements, we’re able to come up with a fun and unique 3-D experience for existing and new fans of the film,” Producer Don Hahn has said.

Quebec music superstar Céline Dion has confirmed she and her husband, René Angélil, are expecting twin boys.

The news was reported on the singer's website Friday.

Dion, 42, and Angélil, 68, already have a nine-year-old son, René-Charles, who was conceived with the help of fertility treatments.

"Celine first announced the upcoming new additions to the Angélil-Dion family back in May, and now she just revealed that she is expecting twin boys!" the statement said.

Dion, who is on a break from touring, became pregnant after undergoing her sixth in vitro fertilization treatment, her publicist Kim Jakwerth told People magazine.

Dion's efforts reportedly included travelling from her home in Florida to New York for treatments. She also flew to Montreal to undergo therapy with an acupuncturist.

Dion made headlines in November when she revealed that she had suffered a miscarriage.

Dion is 19 weeks into her pregnancy.

The singer is expected to return to Las Vegas in March 2011 to begin a three-year residency at The Colosseum at Caesar's Palace.

The award-winning singer's A New Day closed at The Colosseum (which had been designed and custom-built for the show) in 2007, following a sold-out, five-year extended run.

Since then, Dion has released her English-language studio album Taking Chances as well as a greatest hits album titled My Love: Essential Collection, and embarked on a yearlong, global Taking Chances tour in that brought her to five continents and drew more than three million fans.

Most recently, she was in Los Angeles to participate in a charity cover of We Are The World to benefit Haitian earthquake victims and to perform in a tribute to the late Michael Jackson at the Grammy Awards.

je suis fan de CELINE DION et je recherche les chansons rares qui ne figurent pas sur les versions européennes des albums (b-side des singles, titres bonus, titres exclusifs pour le japon ou les états unis, chansons inédites chantées pendant les concert ou non retenue, remix qui valent le coup). Si tu peux me dire le titre des chansons, me dirent où elles figurents, et encore mieux me les envoyer, ce serait GENIAL.
